Flaregun Studio
The admin authoring tool for creating channels, generating AI flares, and publishing AR experiences.
Flaregun Studio is a browser-based creative workspace available at /studio/. It lets you manage channels, generate images and videos with AI, place content in real-world locations, and share AR experiences via a link or QR code. The studio supports two types of channels — standard Flaregun channels (shared in the main viewer) and standalone client channels (served from their own separate viewer with full branding control).
Signing in
To access the Studio, first sign in at flaregun.ai/88/admin.html. Once you're signed in you'll see a Studio button in the top-right corner of that page — click it to open the Studio. The Studio checks your session automatically, so you won't be asked to sign in again.

If you navigate directly to the Studio without a valid session, a lock screen covers the page with a button to take you back to /88/admin.html to sign in. Once signed in, return to the Studio and it unlocks automatically.
A small label in the top-right header always shows your current auth state. It turns green when you're fully signed in, or shows a lock icon if your session has expired.
The Sign out button appears in the top-right corner while you're signed in. Clicking it logs you out and returns you to the admin dashboard.
Channels
Channels are containers for flares. Every flare belongs to exactly one channel. The left sidebar lists all channels owned by your studio account. Each row shows the channel name, its type label, and how long it has left (if it expires).
Channel types

Create a Flaregun channel
Click + New in the sidebar to open the channel creation form. Give the channel a name, an optional description, and choose between a free 48-hour or permanent channel. Click Create and the channel is ready immediately.
Create a client channel
Click + New Client to open the client channel form. Set a name, description, and choose how long the channel should stay active:
- 1 day / 3 days / 7 days / 14 days / 30 days
- Permanent (never expires)
Client channels are completely separate from standard Flaregun channels. They get their own viewer link, their own flare storage, and their own branding panel.
Expired & inactive channels
Client channels that have run out of time appear in a separate section at the bottom of the sidebar. The channel name has a strikethrough to indicate it's inactive. Each expired channel has an Activate button — click it, pick a new expiry window, and the channel is brought back to the active list immediately.
Sharing & QR codes
When you select a channel, its share link and QR code appear at the top of the content area.
Every channel gets a unique URL. Flaregun channels open in the main Flaregun viewer; client channels open in the separate client viewer. This is the link you send to visitors.
Copies the share URL to your clipboard in one click.
Opens the share link in a new browser tab so you can preview exactly what visitors will see.
A scannable QR code is generated automatically next to the share link. Anyone can point their phone camera at it to open the channel in AR — no typing required. The QR updates instantly when you switch channels.
Downloads a high-resolution version of the QR code named after the channel — suitable for printing on flyers, posters, or signage.
Client channel branding
The branding panel appears automatically when a client channel is selected. It lets you fully customise what visitors see when they open the channel.
Set a headline that visitors see on the channel's start screen instead of the internal channel name. Hit Save to apply it.
Toggle whether the share button is visible inside the viewer. Turn it off for private or white-label deployments where you don't want visitors sharing the link further.
Upload an image that shows for about 5 seconds when someone first opens the channel — acts as a branded intro screen. Accepts PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 5 MB. Use Reset to default to remove it and go back to the Flaregun logo.
Controls how large the splash image appears on screen. Choose from three sizes: Full screen (the image fills the display), Medium (roughly half the screen), or Small (a compact logo-sized block). The setting saves instantly and takes effect the next time a visitor opens the channel.
Upload a logo that appears centred above the channel title on the start screen. Same file rules as the splash image. The Remove button clears it entirely.
The map
An interactive dark-styled map sits at the top of every channel view. It's your working surface for placing flares in real-world locations. You can pan and zoom it freely.
Click anywhere on the map to mark where your next flare will appear in AR. An orange pin drops at that spot and the latitude/longitude fields in the creator fill in automatically.
Every flare already in the channel appears as a small image thumbnail pinned to its real-world location. Video flares show a 🎬 icon. Click any pin to see a preview of the flare and its exact coordinates.
When you open a channel, the map automatically zooms and pans to show all the flares in that channel. One flare zooms right in; multiple flares all fit on screen at once.
Drops the pin at your device's current GPS position and pans the map there. Useful for placing a flare exactly where you're standing.
Type any address or place name and the map will find it, drop the pin there, and pan to it. No need to know the coordinates.
Type exact latitude and longitude values directly into the fields. The map pin moves to match as you type.
Flare creator
The creator is a six-step form below the map. Complete each section and click + Add to channel to publish your flare.
Step 1 — Location
Set where the flare will appear in the real world. You can click the map, use the GPS button, search an address, or type coordinates manually. This is the physical location someone needs to be near to see the flare in AR.
Step 2 — Media type & source
Choose what kind of flare you're making and where the media comes from.
- Image / VideoSwitch between an image flare or a video flare. The output settings update to match your selection.
- ✨ Generate with AIDescribe what you want and the AI creates it for you. A text prompt field appears.
- ⬆ UploadUse your own existing file. A drag-and-drop zone appears. Images preview immediately; videos are uploaded to the server first.
Step 3 — Reference images optional
Add up to 14 images to guide the AI's style or composition. Drag them in or click Add Files. Each image shows as a small thumbnail with an × to remove it. The AI uses these as visual inspiration — not as the final output. Clear removes all of them at once.
Step 4 — Output settings
Image settings

Video settings
- Aspect ratio16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, or 21:9.
- Duration5 seconds or 10 seconds.
AR Mode
Turn AR mode on to automatically remove the background from the image or video so it floats cleanly in AR without a white or black box around it.
- Images — background removal runs directly in your browser. A simpler method is used automatically as a fallback if needed.
- Videos — background removal runs on the server after the video is generated. The result is a transparent video clip.
Step 5 — Extra details optional
- AR text overlayA short caption that appears on screen in the AR viewer when someone is looking at this flare.
- Clickable linkA URL that opens when someone taps the flare in AR. Only works on permanent or paid channels — ignored on free channels.
Step 6 — Audio loop optional
Attach an MP3 or WAV file that plays whenever this flare is visible in AR. The audio loops independently of the image or video — a long track keeps playing while a short video loops. Use Replace audio to swap it out or Clear to remove it.
AI image generation
Click ✨ Generate to start the image. You need a channel selected and a prompt written. The button disables itself while a generation is in progress so you can't accidentally run it twice.
Image generation usually takes a few seconds to about a minute depending on complexity and resolution. A live status message and log update while the image is being made. Generation times out after 5 minutes.
Once the image is ready it appears in the preview on the right. Images are shown on a checkered background so you can clearly see any transparent areas from background removal. The preview stays empty until something is generated or uploaded.
When AR mode is on, the background is stripped from the image automatically — right in your browser. If the browser-based AI tool can't load, a simpler colour-matching method is used as a fallback. Either way the result has a transparent background.
AI video generation
Write a prompt, choose your aspect ratio and clip length (5 or 10 seconds), and the AI generates a video from scratch. No reference image needed.
Add a reference image and the AI animates from it, using your image as the opening frame. A great way to bring a still into motion while keeping visual control over the starting composition.
Video takes longer than images — typically a few minutes. A live status message keeps you updated while it processes. The Studio waits up to 10 minutes before timing out.
When AR mode is on for video, the background is stripped from the entire clip on the server after it's generated. The result is a video with a transparent background that plays cleanly over the real world in AR.
Saving a flare to your channel
Once you have a generated or uploaded image/video in the preview and a location pin on the map, click + Add to channel to publish.
The Studio bundles together the media, location, caption, link, and audio and saves everything to the channel. The form resets, the orange pin disappears, and the new flare immediately appears in the flare grid below and as a thumbnail pin on the map.

Below the creator, every flare in the selected channel is shown as a responsive grid of cards — sorted newest first.
Each flare card shows:
- A thumbnail of the image or a looping video preview
- The prompt or caption it was created with
- Its latitude / longitude coordinates
- A 🎵 icon if it has an audio loop attached
Opens the full image or video file in a new browser tab.
Permanently removes the flare. You'll be asked to confirm first. The flare disappears from both the grid and the map immediately.
Activity log
A scrollable log strip runs along the bottom of the creator panel. Every action is recorded in real time with a timestamp. Use it to track what's happening during long generations or to diagnose upload issues.
Notifications
Small pop-up notifications appear in the bottom-right corner whenever something notable happens — a flare saved, a link copied, or an error. They disappear on their own after about 3 seconds.
